Tirupati (is a major pilgrimage city located in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located at the foothills of the Eastern Ghats at a distance of south of Hyderabad, the capital of the state and north of Chennai.Tirupati is famous for the Venkateswara Swamy temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, located about north west of Tirupati in the Tirumala hills at an elevation of.
